A market for songs. Each song lists a slice of its master royalties as shares. Buy shares and you're paid your part of the royalties every month the song streams. Shares trade on an order book, so you can sell any time someone is buying.
How much do I need?+
You can start with $10. Market orders buy as many whole shares as your amount covers; some songs trade for under a dollar.
Do I own the song?+
No. You own a right to a slice of the recording's royalty income for the listed term. The artist or label keeps the copyright, the master and creative control.
Buying and selling
Market or limit order?+
A market order fills now at the best prices on the book. A limit order only fills at your price or better and waits on the book until it does or you cancel it.
What are the fees?+
Takers pay 0.5% of the trade. Placing a limit order that rests on the book is free until it fills; then the other side pays the taker fee.
Why can't I trade a song right now?+
It's halted. A trade more than 20% away from the price 15 minutes earlier pauses the song for 10 minutes; a song removed from streaming services halts until we confirm what happened. Your orders stay on the book.
What is an IPO?+
Artists sell shares before or around release at a fixed price. Your money is held until the IPO closes. If the minimum isn't reached, everyone is refunded. Otherwise the artist is paid, keeps unsold shares, and trading opens.
Royalties and payouts
When do I get paid?+
Monthly, about 45 to 75 days after the streams. Streaming services pay distributors in arrears, so September streams usually pay out in mid-to-late November. Your Royalties page shows each month moving through the pipeline and the predicted date.
Why does the meter tick every second?+
It's an estimate of what your shares earned today, from yesterday's stream counts. When the real statement arrives we pay the actual amount and show it next to the estimate.
If I sell, do I lose royalties I've earned?+
No. Each month's royalties are split by how many days you held during that month, so you're paid for the days you owned the shares even after you sell.
What are Instant Royalties?+
An optional weekly advance of 75% of your estimated royalties. The rest is paid when the statement arrives. If a month comes in lower, the difference comes out of future royalties; we never take back cash you've received.
Why was tax withheld?+
Without a tax form on file we must withhold 24% (backup withholding). Add a W-9 or W-8BEN in Settings → Tax and future payouts are paid in full or at your treaty rate.
Pressings
What is a pressing?+
A collectible card for each song you own, like a numbered vinyl run. The serial is your place in line: IPO buyers are the first pressing.
How do tiers work?+
Tiers are earned by your rank among the song's fans, never by chance: Dubplate for the #1 fan, Test pressing for the top 10, White label for the top 100 (smaller cut-offs while a song is young), Colour for the top quarter or six months held, Black for everyone else. They update as holdings change.
Adding and withdrawing money
How do I add money?+
Wallet → Add money. Use a card, Apple Pay or bank transfer through our on-ramp partner, or send USDC on Base to your personal deposit address. Deposits usually land within a minute.
How do withdrawals work?+
Add a withdrawal address first. New addresses unlock after 24 hours and we email you, so someone with your session can't drain your account. Withdrawals need a passkey or authenticator check if you've set one up.
Why do I need to verify my identity?+
The law requires it before you move money. Basic verification raises your limit to $1,000 a day; an ID check raises it to $25,000.
Security
How do I secure my account?+
Add a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID or a security key) or an authenticator app in Settings → Security. Sensitive actions then ask you to confirm it's you.
I see a device I don't recognise+
Settings → Security → Devices. Sign it out, or sign out everywhere else, then add a passkey.
For artists
How do I list a song?+
Open Studio, add the track, and take it public. We suggest an IPO price from your streams and listeners. Before an IPO can close you verify that you control the master and sign a letter of direction to your distributor.
Do I give up my masters?+
No. You sell a slice of royalty income for a term you choose. You keep the copyright, the master and creative control, and keep every share you don't sell.
Can I trade my own stock?+
You can hold it. Trading your own stock around your own announcements is flagged and may be blocked.
